Exploring Mexico

MEXICO CALLING

From the vibrant, bustling city of Mexico, to the quieter days spent on the Yucutan Peninsula followed by bustling, humid nights in the jungle and on the beach - Mexico certainly has it all. See the spots that have inspired our latest travels in what has got to be my most incredible trip yet.

Vibrant, overwhelming at times due to the incredible mass of population, but effortlessly beautiful and independent - Mexico City stole my heart the moment I arrived. What other city can you be brushing shoulders in the cities slickest rooftop bars drinking the best cocktails of your life, then fueling yourself in your stilleto's on the sidewalk with the most incredible street food of your life! Mexico City... you have arrived.

Each area here boasts unique architecture, town planning and completely different vibes. Roma Norte, the neighbourhood we stayed was dotted with fabulous bars, restaurants and beautiful little guest houses to stay.

Up for some slick dining options? Polanca is a beautiful Paris inspired neighbourhood with some seriously great options. You'll never find a better margarita than Agua & Sol with your incredible ceviche. Pop next door for some serious mezcal tasting. Dine out for a flashy dinner at Rosa Negra followed by the chic Supra rooftop.

You won't want to miss the beautiful home of Frida Kahlo, or to wander the streets finding your own places to retreat with the days marg and tapas. We found some incredible speak easys that took us from day to night!

This metropolis deserves all your attention - 3 nights here and we were only scratching the surface of what to explore. And before you ask.. yes never felt safer if our lives.

Cotton is the key in these warmer climates! Our Janey skirt was a dream

Soaking it all up in Jens Wild Horses Dress

This cotton layered dress a winner for me here!

Yucatán Peninsula

The incredible Yucatán Peninsula. Home to ceynotes, nightlife, quiet moments of contemplation and again... the best margaritas and food we have ever tasted.

If you think you're going to Mexico to lose weight, think again my friend. If you're like me, you won't want to under-indulge in anything, and you can get just about any flavour of margarita you can think of (my idea of heaven) From cucumber margaritas, to $2 tacos, to the best fine dining experience.. yes again.

We started this part of our trip on the beautiful quiet island of Holbox, a diving retreat where the whale sharks can often be spotted, flamingos, turtles and an abundance of wildlife. Days are spent on the white sand beach, lounging under a palm umbrella, soaking up the warm waters or exploring the sea. An array of gorgeous guest houses an hotels spot the seafront with some cute little spots for dinner.

Exploring a bit of history in this part of Mexico is super easy - while we went to chitchen itza, it was crowd competitng and extreamly hot! It was super to see this historical site, but I left my heart in Coba. A gorgeous little village on the side of a lake not far from Tulum. You can explore and climb the ruins here without the tourists, dive into the cooling ceynotes, and stay at what is one of my favourite hotels in the world. Boasting a perfumery on site, gorgeous restaurant, and surrounded by crocs, and jaguars - the serene evenings here were out of this world. Not the mention the gorgous hotel itself! I left here with a bag full of new, personalised perfums and an incredible experience to last me a lifetime.
